Windows-based Transaction Monitoring
In addition to DéjàClick, AlertSite's standards-based transaction monitor, we offer a second business transaction monitor that is optimized to work with Microsoft's Internet Explorer. The ASTM Recorder comes complete with a scripting language that allows customers, together with AlertSite Performance Advisors, to write scripts for monitoring a specific business transaction. The monitor was created specifically for those IT organizations requiring a Windows-only approach in their systems environment. As with DéjàClick, the completed scripts are uploaded to the AlertSite global monitoring stations and reports are made available on the AlertSite Monitoring Console.
This Transaction Recorder requires additional effort to generate scripts and does not have the resiliency when playing and replaying scripts inherent in DéjàClick's inside-the-browser monitoring solution used with Firefox.
The ASTM Recorder enables a user to step through any web-based application in Internet Explorer and create scripts by entering text, clicking links and pressing buttons just like an end-user would. Upon completion of the recording, the script can be played and revised to specify precisely the transaction you wish to monitor. This script is uploaded to your AlertSite account and installed on our global monitoring network to playback the desired transaction at the appropriate interval (30 minutes, 15 minutes or 5 minutes).
Most transactions can be easily recorded and ready for monitoring in minutes. Some transactions may be more complex and utilize many layers of application logic. These complex transactions frequently require adjustment by one of our development staff or a setting of certain administrative options.
